Living with sarcoidosis, the good, the bad, and lots of in between.

Can sarcoidosis lead to or turn into cancer

Can sarcoidosis lead to cancer
Can sarcoidosis turn into cancer

Sarcoidosis is known to be a cancer mimicking and masking condition, it can follow cancer or develop concurrently with cancer, and significantly increased risk of cancer can affect sufferers of sarcoidosis. The cancers in particular are lung cancer, malignant lymphomas, and cancer in other organs known to be affected by sarcoidosis.

Hairy cell leukemia has been reported as have acute myeloid leukemia, and acute myeloblastic leukemia associated with sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis is followed by the development of a lymphoproliferative disorder such as non-Hodgkin lymphoma in the sarcoidosis lymphoma syndrome. All this is more than likely attributed to the underlying immune abnormalities that occur during the sarcoidosis disease process.

My song titled ‘Sarcoid’ it is for all of us involved with this condition.

  1. After almost losing my career as a pilot to this disease, (my recently published book at my website, touches on this: Uplift – A Pilot’s Journey) it’s been a long, interesting journey. Now I live with ongoing prostate cancer, curious about the interconnections.

FWIW the treatments found at chronicillnessrecovery.org helped me a lot!

Thanks for the song! Indeed, it is a “holiday” I would gladly skip!

Anna, I was just diagnosed as well and I would love to have someone to talk to about this Sarcoidosis with. Mine started as rash on lower leg and doc decided to biopsy this. Then I was sent to Chicago Hospital to see specialist since the docs in my area were not sure.

Now I just found out I have an enlarged lymph node in my neck area. Just found out it is more than likely “just sarcoidosis”. Sad part is that it is still scary.

Diagnosed with it in May 2016. Very new to this. If anyone can offer me any advice, both “Positive” and “Negative” including any “Encouragement”, “Motivation”, and “Determination” as well as anything I might be leaving out would be helpful. Please respond to me on Facebook. “Very Much Appreciated” to those who do!

I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis by my dermatologist several years ago. Recently I’m seeing blood, occasionally in the mucous I cough up. The cat scan performed shows a dominant nodule in my upper right lung. What does this mean?

  7. Your comment about sarcoidosis really freaked me. I am sarcoid sufferer. Sarcoid involved lung, brain, sinuses and my liver .
